CK Damp Specialist started as CK Plastering, and plastering is still the heart of what we do. Every damp job ends with a plasterer, so it made sense to be the plasterer. From a single patch to a whole house, the finish is flat, smooth and ready for paint.
What we plaster
- Skimming over sound existing plaster or plasterboard to give tired walls a fresh, flat surface.
- Re-plastering where the old plaster has blown, been hacked off after damp or is beyond saving.
- Ceilings. Skimming, overboarding and full re-boarding, including after a leak has brought one down.
- Patch repairs around new windows, after an electrician or plumber has been through, or where a partition wall has come out.
- Reveals and detail work. Skylights, bay windows, chimney breasts and boxed-in pipework, the fiddly bits that show if they are not right.
How a job goes
We look at the room, agree what needs doing and give you a written price. On the day we sheet up, prepare the surfaces properly, board or bond where needed, then apply the finish coats. We work cleanly, finish when we said we would and tell you exactly when it will be ready to paint.
Old houses and tricky rooms
A lot of our work is in older Teesside and North Yorkshire houses where nothing is square and the walls have had a hundred years of repairs. That is fine. One review sums it up: a whole room patched and skimmed in a really tricky old house.
