Bathroom ceilings get the worst of the moisture in a house. This one had sagged and cracked to the point where patching was pointless.
We took it down, checked the joists, fitted new plasterboard tight to the tiled walls and left the cable ready for the new light. Once skimmed and painted with a bathroom emulsion it will outlast the tiles.
